I purchased a Generac Home Standby Unit on May 27/2010. It is the 22K Model # QTO2224ANAN. It is a piece of Junk. My Unit has not worked since I know August 1/2011, and probably before that. Generac says they don't have the Part. Stator. Wondering if I will ever...

Having similar experience. Oversized and low usage unit with less than 4000 hour in 9 years.

Right after warranty ran out the switch control unit went out and the board replacement was over $500. Now the stator is bad and it would be another $2000. Of the 4 emergencies, it failed 2 out of the 4. Most of the hours are in the weekly testing.

Generac Seems uninterested in helping with discount parts prices or other considerations. Sad that the engine and other mechanicalcomponents hold up better than the electric generator portion. I now have a $6000 piece of junk sitting in my yard!

They won’t ever help on parts or labor! Probably should do a class action for faulty stators

Ford Motor Co. refuses to except responsibility

I own a 2005 F-250 that has had repeated problems and Ford's only response is that we are sorry. The differentials limited slip has been a problem starting at 17K miles. The clutches are wearing out within 6K to 17K miles. Ford replaced the clutches 3 times under warranty (less than 35K miles), then the clutches failed again at 36K. Even with a history of failure, Ford would not pay a nickel to repair or replace the clutches. Now at 48K the problem is back and again with a history of 5 failures, Ford only answer is" have it repaired by a Ford dealer pay for the repairs. And o'yes, kept your receipts in the event that Ford has a "Recall" on the problem. Then I might be reimbursed. It nice to know that Ford is making huge profits and thier CEO make 29 Million a year, but is it on the backs of their customers and dealer?? Signed, My Last Ford

Last fall I purchased a Generac 14KW Standby Lp-Gas generator, it ran less than 4 hours including exercise time before that rotor and stator failed, resulting in all the power being supplied to one leg of the circuit. Which in return burnt out your furnace hot water...

Next time buy a winco generator!! They are the oldest generator company in the USA any by far the best on the market!

May cost more upfront... but that's nothing compared to wrecking appliances in the house or any other thing! Easy to work on and even better... most of there employees have been there at least 15 years or more!

Generac can't say that at all! Most is only a year or two!

Generac portable generators: Do not waste your money on this inferior product. I paid $1611.50 for a brand new Generac generator 3/26/10. Before that, I had a Troy Bilt generator (which someone stole) for over a year. When I had the Troy and and would take it out...

My stand-by generator battery kept dying. I finally figured out that unless I had it connected to the "grid" the monitoring equipment would drain the battery.

(I use the 12 KW unit to run my well pump about once each month) I put up a 15 watt solar panel and no more dead batteries!

Today, however, I heard the RPM drop, then die.

The generator had apparently self-destructed as there were little bits of wire and lots of copper flakes scattered throughout the cabinet. Just emailed Generac and waiting for Monday's response.

My generac was installed by one of your distributors. He is a personal friend and USN trained electician licensed throughout New England.

I live in Vermont. We have frequent power outtages. 75% of the time one of the following happens 1) unit does not kick in or 2) when the grid is back on line the generac kicks off but power does not return to the house unless I manually toggle the yellow bar.

We bought this $10K system for insurance when we leave for weeks at a time. We are not happy campers.
