I wish to update my review of Generac and let everyone know I'm happy with their response to my original review here. Despite my warranty being expired, Amanda Olivares at Generac was very willing to help me out and to provide a solution to my problem.

She contacted me immediately after I sent Generac a link to my original review here. She paired me with a local technician who specializes in standby generators and Generac picked up the ENTIRE bill for hours of trouble-shooting and replacement of two magnetos on the unit. She was absolutely wonderful in wanting to make me a satisfied customer and I am very grateful for her help. My unit is now almost ready to go except for a necessary battery replacement.

The battery is somewhat functional but very weak. My view of Generac is now much better and I urge everyone who's had problems with their generators to contact Generac directly with a link to your review here. If you have the experience I did, you'll be very satisfied that the company is trying to do right by their customers who were frustrated with their product.

I do hope my generator doesn't have more issues down the road, but at least for now the company did respond to my problems with it and did right by me. I hope everyone here with similar frustrations with the company has the same experience I did with their own resolution.

My Generac standby generator failed within a year of use and unfortunately, due to issues with the installation of the unit, I was unable to have the repairs done while it was under its 3-year warranty. I had to have the unit reinstalled (which I realize is not Generac's fault) but the reason I'm writing this review is that the technician who looked at the unit admitted that he did not like Generac generators and would never recommend them, as he sees frequent breakdowns with them.

He wasn't even able to repair the unit himself and has had to refer me to another company.

I wish I had known that before I bought the unit. I put my trust in what I thought was a good brand name, regret that decision, and hope my review spares others the same mistake.

Reason of review: Bad quality.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.
